Head Start Receives Funds from ACC Program

ACC's Admissions Administrative Assistant Holly Brunette organized a Reading Room Ride-A-Thon for Enfield Head Start. Holly was a member of the first graduating class of ACC's Women's Leadership Institute. Graduates of the program are asked to create and execute a community action project, following the completion of the program. Holly collaborated with Pam Keenan in ACC's Children's Reading Room on the fundraiser. Children from the Reading Room rode their tricycles for a two-day total of 723 laps around the gym. Sponsorship from students, staff, faculty and the community, resulted in $650 being pledged in donations! Head Start will use the funds to purchase specialty puzzles for their facility. They will also be able to provide social emotional curriculum for all of their classrooms.
