Go Back to Get Ahead




Asnuntuck Community College is joining the 16 other ConnSCU institutions in the State of Connecticut in offering a unique opportunity to residents. The program, Go Back to Get Ahead, is available to students who have not taken any credit-bearing courses between December 30, 2012 and June 30, 2014. The initiative allows students to go back to school and be eligible for up to THREE free 3-credit courses.


More than 100,000 eligible former students have received letters informing them of this opportunity and how to learn more through the program’s web-site.


To be eligible, students must:

  • register for the program through the Go Back to Get Ahead website www.gobacktogetahead.com
  • be CT residents
  • have started (but not completed) an associate or bachelor’s degree program,  -or- have completed an associate’s degree, but not yet started further work toward a bachelor’s degree
  • have successfully completed at least 12 college-level credits
  • must not have taken any college-level courses between 12/1/12 and 6/1/14
  • be in good academic and financial standing
  • plan to matriculate at one of the 17 ConnSCU institutions
  • intend to take a minimum of 6 credits per semester



Program Benefits include:  

         Eligibility for 9 FREE college credits:

  • The 1st semester they return, they get 1 free 3-credit course (must be registered for at least 6 credits)
  • The following semester they get the 2nd free 3-credit course (must be registered for at least 6 credits)
  • The final free 3-credit course is reserved for the student’s last semester before graduating
