Early Childhood Education Certificate

The Early Childhood Education Certificate is designed to provide students with the opportunity to complete a course of study which will prepare them to work in the field of early care and education.  It is also designed for students who are already employed in an early care situation and desire to improve their knowledge and competency in working with young children. Students who complete this certificate may transfer credits earned towards the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in Early Childhood Education.

Outcomes:

The Early Childhood Education certificate is designed to provide students with the opportunity to complete a course of study which will prepare them to work in the field. It is also designed for students who are already employed in early childhood and want to improve their knowledge and competency in working with young children. Students who complete this certificate may move into the program leading to an Associate in Science degree.

Employment Information:

Students who earn a Certificate in Early Childhood Education are qualified to work as paraprofessionals and teaching assistants in early care and learning settings such as day cares, preschools, before and after school programs, public schools, and Head Start programs that serve children birth through age eight.

$28,060 (CT)
$31,280 (MA)
